COLOGNE, Germany, June 23, 2015 – For drivers, blind junctions can be a nerve-wracking experience as they slowly inch forward into traffic and strain to see and hear oncoming vehicles.

Now Ford Motor Company is introducing a new camera technology that can see around corners even when drivers cannot – reducing stress and potentially helping avert collisions.

The innovative Front Split View Camera – now available as an option in the all-new Ford S-MAX and Galaxy – displays to the driver a 180-degree view from the front of the car, using a video camera in the grille. At a blind junction or exiting a driveway, the camera enables drivers to easily spoles, pedestrians or cyclists.

PRETORIA, South Africa, 30 April, 2015 – Ford’s 2015 Ranger Odyssey has been officially launched, with entries now open for those seeking an action-packed adventure of a lifetime.

The third edition of the annual Ranger Odyssey will see a total of 20 contestants from around Africa navigating through the extremely challenging north-western region of Namibia on a 12-day expedition that will push each person to the limit.

Following last year’s exploration of the Kaokoland in the far north-east corner of Namibia, the new route for 2015 heads north-west and traverses the Damaraland region. The adventure starts off at Spitzkoppe and travels through Palmwag, Khuwarib and the barren and unforgiving Desolation Trail that follows the Huab River to Desolation Valley.

  • Comments Off on Ford Marks Production Milestone As 5-Millionth EcoBoost-Equipped Vehicle Rolls Off Assembly Line

WAYNE, Mich., March 19, 2015 – Ford has hit a new production milestone with its fuel-efficient EcoBoost® engine technology. Late last week, the 5-millionth vehicle with a Ford EcoBoost engine rolled off the assembly line at Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.


It was just less than three years ago that Ford celebrated production of its 500,000th EcoBoost-equipped vehicle. Now, a Ford Focus equipped with 1.0-liter turbocharged engine represents the 5-millionth Ford EcoBoost engine produced.

EcoBoost was launched in 2009 on Ford Taurus SHO with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. That year, 14,439 EcoBoost engines were manufactured.

In 2010, the first full year of EcoBoost production, 62,704 vehicles with the technology were built.  The 2-millionth EcoBoost engine rolled off the line at Louisville in October 2013.

PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, 18 March 2015  The Ford Performance team is ready and primed for the exciting first round of the 2015 Donaldson Cross Country championship, which takes place in the Free State town of Harrismith on 27 and 28 March.

The new-look series features just six events, two less than last year, but with an interesting new formula comprising a mix of shorter sprint races, longer endurance events and the marathon race in Botswana.

Kicking off with the RFS Endurance race, competitors will be tackling an almost entirely new route run over a total race distance of 698 km. The action commences with a 196 km qualifying race on the Friday to determine starting positions, followed by two laps of the 251 km main race route on Saturday.
